Health Communication
Objectives
Learning outcomes of the curricular unit
Understand the role of the diversity of health communication:
competencies for a health professional in capacity building for health promotion;
Apply best practice approach to diagnose health communication challenges and problems, including in organizational change for health promotion;
Know the principles and methods of an effective communication (interpersonal, organization and with the media);
Demonstrate health communication skills including written skills for communicating science to the non-expert public and verbal for effective public presentations;
Understand the role of the several health communication channels, including the new technologies and social media;
Define Health Communication plans for intersectoral action for health;
Demonstrate skills in converting scientific language into plain language adapted to lay, low literate and culturally diverse people.
