Advanced Basis of Medical Imaging
Objectives
The general purposes of the course are: to obtain a set of methodologies and knowledges that allow students to optimize the diagnostic and treatment of their patients and to be acquainted with the current modus operandi of imaging specialties. Also it should be provided a correlation of the individual evaluation with the social context of health care
Moreover it is important to provide the student with the capacity to innovate and to develop new methods of morphological and functional diagnosis and prevention.

Teaching method
The teaching service is combination of lectures and practical classes, total of 56 hours. Each class will have a main subject with presentation of summary and theoretical prelude and ending with practical cases, clarification of doubts. A synthesis of most important topics and questions or issues raised by the students will be clarified.
Teaching subjects: Introduction and physical basis and semiology of ultrasound, MR and CT, thorax, abdomen, pelvis/women´s pathology, neuroimaging, head and neck, musculoskeletal, vascular, intervention , emergency pediatrics, nuclear medicine, oncology, functional .
Evaluation method
In the 15th week of classes there will be an oral test (weight 40% of the final classification), with a presentation of team work.
Final exam- written test with 25 questions, multiple choice and open answer/interpretation questions, in medQuizz. Contributes 60% to the final grade.
