Objectives

a) Acquisition of systematic comprehension skills of issues and problematics in Education
b) To understand the evolution of general concepts of science, objectivity, theory and accuracy
c) To understand ethical theories and issues in Education research
d) To understand the use of different types of methodologies (descriptive, experimental, exploratory, qualitative) within the Educational Sciences framework
e) To acquire critical analysis skills, to assess and to synthetize new and complex ideas concerning research in Education
f) Enabling the development of research that deserves national and international divulgation
g) Acquisition of communication skills with peers, the academic community and society about the issues and questions related to Educational Sciences
h) Acquisition of bibliographic research skills

QUANTITATIVE RESEARCH in EDUCATION
Data Collection Techniques (Interview, Surveys, Observation, Documental Analysis, Tests, Scales): validity and reliability
Research designs: experimental, quasi-eperimental and correlational studies; transversal, successive independent and longitudinal designs
Data Analysis: univariate and multivariate data analysis; variable centred approach - correlation, regression analysis and stuctural equation modeling – and person centred approach – cluster analysis
