Objectives

a) To apply and integrate all skills and knowledge trained and acquired so far
b) To improve the components of translational competence (in particular in the domains of research, methodology and text production)
c) To develop a translation project based on a text of a special language in an autonomous, argumentative and commented way

Teaching method

1 - Different kinds of exercises in class (application of previously explained key concepts)
2 - Commented translations of previously prepared texts of different types (with justification of translational choices)
3 - Commented translation of a specific text (final individual work)
4- Written test

Evaluation method

Continuous evaluation, with no final examination, together with active participation in the work set; items 1, 2, 3 and 4 (above mentioned in Teaching methods) have equal weighting.

Subject matter

1- Stages in the translation flow – before the translation, during the process and after the translation task
2- Translation problems and strategies to solve them
3- Reference tools (traditional, computerized and institutional ones) for the translator
