Spanish Language B1.2 - 2nd semester
To reach level B1 of the CEFR.
1. Understand main points and extract specific details in various texts dealing with topics related to everyday activities.
2. Write simple but well constructed texts about current themes or topics relating to personal involvement.
3. Exchange information, opinions and arguments in a simple but coherent way. Take part in spontaneous conversations to express feelings and beliefs, whether to agree or disagree.
4. Be aware of his/her own errors and the most persisitent errors, as well as the differences between the two languages.
5. To develop knowledge about the history, policital situation and lingusitic reality of Spain and Latin America.
6. Be able to relate the mother culture with the cultures of Spanish-speaking countries, and to develop a sense of open-mindeness and interest in cultural diversity.
7. Apply what is learned to the fields of Languages, Literature, Culture and translation.

Inductive and deductive, formal and communicative activities, based on one or more type of language feature (expression, comprehension, interaction and mediation), focussing on the students´ needs, and emphasising the integration of skills, intercultural reflection, autonomous learning and the use of ICT.
In class teaching.
Continuous Evaluation. Two tests done in class; oral presentations and written work. Evaluation will be based on communicative competence, accuracy and appropriacy, the use of learning strategies, knowledge about sociocultural aspects of the Hispanic world and an ability to think seriously about cultural matters.
Parts of the evaluation:
-Level and quality of class participation + other practices (30%)
-Reading test: précis and commentary based on a text (literary, journalistic as well as other styles) (20%)
-Term test: test of linguistic and cultural content (50%).
1. Expressing information, opinions, feelings and arguments in a simple and coherent manner, concerning topics as working word, arts and cinema, globalization, borders and education.
2. Relating information by means of expressing causes, conditions and purpose.
3. Relative clauses, new uses of subjunctive and verbs that expresses changes.
4. Future and Conditional.
5. Review of ways of addressing people in Spanish.
6. Widening of vocabulary related to daily topics in both the private and public domain.
7. Contrastive features between Spanish and Portuguese, with focus in correcting persistent mistakes.
8. Deeper analysis about facts, cultural aspects, behaviours and sociocultural conventions in the Hispanic world.
9. Develoment of intercultural knowledge and skills.
10. Current events: the relations between the Hispanic world and the mother country.
