Estudos Sul-Americanos (not translated) - 2nd semester

Objectives

a) to understand the main contemporary issues of South America;
b) to identify the main actors, structures, processes and constrangiments of the international insertion strategies of South American countries;
c) to develop critical ans analysis skills through the examination of case studies;
d) to understand the main political and economic trends of South America countries and analyse it through a historical-comparative lens.

Teaching method

The curricular unity blends theoretical and practical methods, through combining lectures on the main topics with practical classes for the presentation and discussion of readings. This
methodology aims to give students the theoretical tools necessary for the analysis and evaluation of core aspects of South-American countries.
