Access to study programmes leading to a doctoral degree.
This course is recognized for career progression purposes of recruitment for teachers of group 200 and 400, as provided in the Statute of Teaching Career.

Length: 2 years/4 semesters
Total credits: 120 credits (60 credits from curricular units + 60 credits from the non-teaching component)
Non-teaching component modes: Dissertation or Project Work or Internship with Report.
The student accomplishes 50 credits in all the curricular units offered. The student also carries out 10 credits as free-elective optional (from curricular units of postgraduate level at FCSH/NOVA, UNL, or other national or foreign institutions of higher education under agreement).
In the 3rd semester the student must attend a follow-up seminar for the non teaching component (5 ECTS).
The degree of mestre corresponds to the level 7 of the NQF and EQF-National Qualifications Framework/European Qualifications Framework.

Academic Regulation for curricular units evaluation is available at intranet. Students at FCSH/NOVA are evaluated based on the work developed over a semester, based on class participation, presentation of written and oral tests and examinations. The result obtained either by continuous assessment or evaluation of the tests is expressed on a scale of 0 to 20. To be approved, students must have at least 10 points to pass, however, who fail have a second chance to repeat the exams. Repeat exam: Has access any student of 1st or 2nd cycle who has obtained the minimum grade of eight values per rounding in the final grade of the curricular unit. SPECIAL PROCEDURES FOR EVALUATION: - Worker-Student - Students with the status of top athletes - Mothers and fathers students - Associative leaders - Military - Other special arrangements provided legally. Students with special needs can benefit from teaching and learning conditions to meet their needs.
