Educational Psichology - 1st semester

Objectives

To acquire the psychological foundations for the work of the teacher.
The student should be able to use theoretical models in the understanding of the phenomena of education,
article reading, analysis and evaluation of practical cases and the creation of alternative courses of action in
educational intervention.

Evaluation method

The assessment includes the presentation of a paper to the class in Pecha Kucha mode - 20 slides x 20 seconds
(group work: 30%), a task analysis of a case of indiscipline (individual work: 65%) and a final self-evaluative
reflection (5%).

Psychology as a science. Psychology and teacher training: the psychology of learning and development as
basis for the work of the teacher. Communication, discipline and classroom management: Kaplan´s task
analysis model. Behavioral models of learning (classical conditioning and operant conditioning). Bandura´s
Social cognitive theory. Cognitive development and intelligence. Piaget´s theory. Socio-cognitive and emotional
development. The theory of instruction of Jerome Bruner. The first day with a new class.
