Education objectives
Association between NOVA FCSH and ISCTE-Instituto Universitário de Lisboa.
- Provide in depth theoretical conceptual and methodological tools for the study of Anthropology;
- Provide the necessary conditions for the debate of fundamental themes adequate to advanced training;
- Develop critical reflexive capacities;
- Supply the competences required for research;
- Train the students for the development of independent work.

Degree pre-requisites
Duration: 8 semesters/4 years
Includes in the first year the attendance and approval of a PhD Course (60 ECTS) and in the following years the elaboration of a Thesis (180 ECTS)
Conditions of admittance
Admission requirements: a) Holders of a master degree or legal equivalent in any scientific area; b) Holders of a bachelor degree and who have an especially relevant academic or scientific curriculum; c) Holders of an academic, scientific or professional curriculum that is recognized as proof of ability to complete the PhD program. Evaluation criteria: - Bachelor degree final grade (20%); - Master degree final grade (20%); - Motivation letter (10%); - Professional and scientific curriculum considered relevant to the PhD Program (30%); - Research project (20%). The Evaluation Committee can decide to complement the evaluation of motivation and research project through individual interview. Candidates with less or equal to 10 points will not be admitted.
