Education objectives

The PhD Programme in Biology aims at providing advanced scientific education towards formation of specialised human resources, enabling the creation and integration in networks of excellence within the broad area of Life Sciences and in particular in Biology. The final objective is to provide research-oriented education towards highly qualified researchers with optimised skills, allowing them to pursue their own I&D projects with independence towards their integration as added economic and social value either in Industry or Academia.

The PhD Programme in Biology includes diferent areas of specialisation - Molecular Genetics, Microbiology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Plant Biology, Biotechnology and Bio-informatics – each representing a single sub-area of Biology encompassing a specific set of knowledge, skills and approaches. Research / Academia, Clinical Laboratories, Pharmaceutical, Food and Biotechnology Industry.
