Teaching method

Laboratory work, lectures supported by slides and problems in TP classes.

Evaluation method

It is required to obtain the frequency to the chair, which requires the practical laboratory work and participation in 7 theoretical-practical classes.

Continuous evaluation involves

Theoretical and practical theoretical assessment consisting of five tests - average of the tests removing the lower evaluation is worth 2/3 of the final grade (mandatory 9.5 or above).
Laboratory evaluation - worth 1/3 of the final grade (required 9,5 or higher)
• Students who have acquired attendance in previous years will see the theoretical-practical and laboratory component replaced by this registered grade, which in total will have a weight of 1/3 in the final grade.
The maximum number of absences allowed is stipulated by law.

saturated and unsaturated compounds .

Nucleophilic substitution reactions on saturated carbon. Nucleophilic aliphatic substitution: SN1 and SN2 mechanisms.

Elimination reactions. Mechanisms E1 and E2. Substitution versus elimination. Mechanism E1cb.

Unsaturated compounds as nucleophiles. Electrophilic addition. Electrophilic addition to conjugated dienes. Cycloaddition. Diels-Alder reaction.

Formation and reactions of enols and enolates. Tautomerism. The aldol reaction.

Reactivity of aromatic compounds. Electrophilic aromatic substitution reactions. Nucleophilic aromatic substitution reactions. Mechanisms of addition-elimination and elimination-addition. Diazonium salts.

The electromagnetic spectrum. Kinds of spectroscopy. 1H-NMR spectroscopy, IR and UV-Vis. Mass spectrometry and elemental analysis. Application examples.
