Computer Aided Technical Drawing

Objectives

- To draw the orthogonal projections of a particular piece.

- To choose the sectioning planes and their cutting surfaces, necessary for a perfect understanding of the drawing.

- To recognize the drawing elements that must not be cutted and represent them.

- To recognize the drawing elements where dimensioning must be done.

- To draw the orthogonal projections of a particular piece, using a CAD software tool.

- To buid a 3D model from the orthogonal projections of a particular piece, using a CAD software tool.

Teaching method

Part I - Initial part of the lesson with exposition of the subjects using examples drawn on the blackboard. Final part with execution of a drawing by students where they apply the knowledge acquired in the previous part.

Part II - Initial part of the lesson with introduction to the subjects using specialized software and a projector. Final part with execution of a drawing in computer by the students where they apply the knowledge acquired in the previous part.

Evaluation method

Part I – Basic Technical Drawing (TP):

 Ongoing assessment :

 - 2 Tests (T1 and T2).

 - Exemption of final examination obtained with test average (TA) and final score (FS) both greater than 9.5.

 Assessment by Final Examination:

 - Examination test (E).

Part II – Computer Aided Design (Computer Lab.)

 - CAD Assessment  (CAD)

Final score (FS):

 - With exemption of final examination: 60% MT + 40% CAD.

 - Without exemption of final examination: 60% E + 40% CAD.
