PostGraduate in Geospatial Intelligence

Education objectives

The Geospatial Intelligence Certificate, accredited by the United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF), provides education and training in scientific concepts, methods and key geospatial technologies, used in the solution of global problems of human security, including natural disasters, humanitarian crisis, environmental risks, military operations, political violence, public health and challenges in access to food.

This program is taught in Portuguese and it aims to train managers and staff to apply knowledge of earth image processing/remote sensing, geographic information science, computer science, and analytic processes to geospatial intelligence as well as select, use, synthesize, and demonstrate the techniques, skills, and tools necessary to solve geospatial intelligence problems.

Applications - academic year 2018-2019
To complete the application, the applicant must register in NOVA IMS' Applications Portal, fill the form, upload their Curriculum Vitae, pay the application fee (€ 51), and submit the application in the end, from October 16th to November 29th, 2018. The selection process is based on the analysis of the applicant's academic and professional curriculum.

Degree pre-requisites

To earn the postgraduate program diploma, it is required to complete 60 ECTS, corresponding to 7 course units, of which 3 are mandatory.

Conditions of admittance

The requirements for the applications are: a degree in a compatible field (complete until February 2019); analysis of the applicants' academic and professional curriculum.
