Objectives
At the end of this unit the student should be able to:
1. Know the main issues associated with the design of complex Information Systems
2. Know the main types and frameworks of Enterprise Architectures and of Information Systems Architectures
3. Know how to plan competitive and business-aligned information systems
4. Apply the knowledge necessary to carry out an Information Systems Architecture in an Organization
5. Manipulate techniques for construction and planning of new information systems

Teaching method
The curricular unit is based on theoretical and practical lessons. A variety of instructional strategies will be applied, including exposure and demonstration with step-by-step examples (with and without software), questions and answers.
The sessions include presentation of concepts and methodologies, solving examples, discussion and interpretation of results. The practical component is geared towards solving real problems, including discussion and interpretation of results.
