Urban Archaeology
Objectives
1. To acquire actualized knowledge on archaeological work in urban environment and the theoretical distinctive contents of Urban Archaeology and the praxis in towns.
2. To learn the evolution of the main concepts of town.
3. To obtain basic knowledge on theoretical principles and strategies that allow a Urban Archaeology practice in a town and the correspondent methodologies of work.
4. To develop student competencies in handling and critical perspectives on management instruments of archaeological work in towns.

Teaching method
Masterly conducted sessions with image projections. Pratical sessions including handling GIS and other archaeological data. Sessions with guest investigators are provided, with discussion. Visits to archaeological museums and urban sites or excavations.
