At the end of the seminar, students should be able to demonstrate:
a) knowledge and proficiency in the relationship with concepts, research instruments,
scientific literature and theories presented;
b) ability to identify and work with research problems in the field in question;
c) critical autonomy and the ability to use specific conceptual frameworks;
d) have developed original research and deepened science communication instruments.

Teaching method

Face-to-face teaching according to the active learning model. The methodologies used include: exhibition and demonstration, discussion, collaborative learning, literature review, problem solving, fieldwork, case studies, interpretation of musical and audiovisual examples, readings and individual and group presentations, design of research projects, among others.

Evaluation method

1 Paper (delivery of a written document and its presentation and oral discussion at the subject's colloquium)(60%), 1 Review to present and discuss in class (and deposit of reading form at Nónio)(20%), Exercises, readings, material production, presence in classes, debates and suggested activities(20%)

Subject matter

This curricular unit intends to deepen aspects of the cultural study of music as a practice and social process, promoting the formulation and discussion of problems in interdisciplinary frameworks, within the scope of social and human sciences. The curricular unit is organized in the form of a laboratory around central research problems, selected annually according to criteria of social and intellectual relevance and taking into account the enrolled group. Individual and group courses and students' research plans are invited to work in class. The program stimulates the relationship between individual research and the missions of the course.
