Education objectives
The Erasmus Mundus Masters Course Crossways in Cultural Narratives has three principal objectives: 1° to promote studies crossing boundary-lines of all types, and to explore European culture in its relations with other continents, thereby fostering the knowledge of a rich European diversity, and the awareness and feeling of a common European identity; 2° to introduce students to a variety of methodological approaches (made possible by the combination of different national cultural heritages) in preparation for advanced doctoral research in the field of the Humanities; 3° to provide future managers with the knowledge and expertise required of people who are to play key roles in international institutions, national administrations or large media groups.

Length: 4 semesters
Student must acquire 120 ECTS, of which 70 are for taught courses. Credits to accomplish the non taught component are acquired globally, this is, a Dissertation Report I (5 ECTS) or a Dissertation Report II (10 ECTS), a Tutorial Seminar and Dissertation (40 ECTS) which totals 45 or 50 ECTS.
The degree of «mestre» corresponds to the level 7 of the NQF and EQF-National Qualifications Framework/European Qualifications Framework.
Conditions of admittance
The selection is made according to academic criteria, and privileges candidates with graduation training in Social Sciences and Humanities. The selection of the students and the entire application process is managed jointly by all the universities of the consortium. The application process is launched in October on the program's website at www.munduscrossways.eu. In addition to the curriculum (15 pt), candidates must prove their academic qualifications (20 pt), mastery of at least two consortium languages (15 pt), academic essays (30 pt), present motivation letter (10 pt) and letters of reference (10pt). All processes are digitized and made available on the intranet for analysis by the local coordinators of all partner institutions. The final selection takes place at an international meeting of the Academic Council of the consortium.
Evaluation rules
A final grade, expressed as a number between 10 and 20 on a scale of 0 to 20 as well as its equivalent on the ECTS grading scale, is awarded for the post-graduate diploma. The final grade of the post-graduate diploma is the average, by credit, of the grades obtained in the course units in which the student obtained the 60 credits from the taught part of the Masters course. A final grade, expressed as a number between 10 and 20 on a scale of 0 to 20 as well as its equivalent on the ECTS grading scale, is awarded for the Masters degree. The final grade of the Masters degree will be the average of the final grade of the taught part of the course, weighted to 40%, and the grade awarded to the dissertation, project work or practical work experience report, weighted to 60%.
