Project 2
Objectives
Allow the student to develop a workplace experience in a cultural, religious or scientific institution, or national company. The student should develop a task connected to heritage conservation in accordance with the interests of the host institution and under the supervision of a member of that institution.
The student must apply the theoretical and practical knowledge acquired in the bachelor of Conservation and Restoration and during the first semester of the Master in Conservation and Restoration. The cultural experience can take different contours, depending on the objectives outlined:
i) Workshop Project of conservation and restoration; ii) Cultural Project; iii) Research project.

Teaching method
The performance of student during the internship and the respective Project Report are evaluated by the supervisor (50% of the total score). The main results are presented to a jury and discussed (50% of the total score). The main examiner is selected according to the specific area of the project.
Evaluation method
Conservation & Restoration Practice: double the hours in the curricular unit of C&R that the student is attending (same grade as the one obtained in the Curricular unit of C&R, it does not have a separated evaluation)
Project
Report must be delivered until the 24th of June and Presentation + Discussion on the 8th of Jully
Max of 15 pages.
The student has to send the PDF version to the Responsibles for this CU and also to the tutor until the deadline indicated above.
The Project report is evaluated, after a discussion, by their supervisor and one jury. The jury person is selected according to the specific area of the project. 50% of grade will be given by the supervisor and the other 50% by the jury.
Supervisor Assessment (50% of the final grade)
The assessment will be made by the supervisor in the institution. He/She must consider the plan accorded with the student and the goals reached. The supervisor will choose the standards of evaluation to be used in this component of the discipline assessment.
Oral presentation and discussion (50% of the final grade)
The oral presentation is 10 min and the discussion is 20 min.

Subject matter
Workshop project: Integration of the student in a team, in an institution or company where he/she should be directly involved in the treatment of a cultural object or a set cultural objects.
Cultural project: integration of the student in an institution responsible for safeguarding cultural heritage, in order to work in areas such as preventive conservation, inventory, survey and collections’ care, organization of exhibitions, research on matters related to art history, history and production techniques artistic or industrial archeology.
Research project: Integration of the student in a scientific institution to conduct a small research project that may involve the characterization or history of cultural objet and its conservation condition or the study of its degradation processes and constituent materials. The research project may also address the study of innovative conservation techniques and the study of artistic production techniques used in the past.
