Evaluation method

Frequency
Obtaining frequency requires that students attend all
practical classeand all theoretical classes.
Final grade
The final grade will result from continuous assessment
throughout the practical and theoretical classes, from the
presentation of a poster (size A0) with the results obtained
from Practical Work No. 6 and a final exam.
Final Grade:
laboratory notebook 10%
laboratory performance 10%
pre lab and post lab questionnaires 10%
presentation of the poster 30%
final exam 40%

PROGRAM

Theoretical Classes

1. Qualitative Analytical Chmenistry determines the presence of spcecificspecies in a sample.

 2. Systematic analysis of a solution: identifcation and separation of anions and cations.

3. Systematic analysis of cations

Group Reagent notion.

Classification and separation of cations in diferent groups.

Specific Reaction of each group

Characterisation reaction of each cation

  • group I : Ag+; Pb2+; Hg22+.
  • group II : Hg2+; Pb2+;Bi3+; Cu2+; Cd2+; As(III); As (V); Sb (III); Sb (V); Sn2+; Sn3+ e Sn4+.
  • group III: Cr3+; Al3+; Fe3+; Ni2+; Co2+; Zn2+; Mn2.
  • group IV: Ba2+ e Ca2+ Sr2+.
  • group V: Mg2+ ; NH4+;  Na; K+
