1. Foundations of Biochemistry.

Biomolecules and macromolecules. The role of chemical elements in life processes. Fundamentals of physics for life sciences. Fundamentals of genetics. Origin of life and evolution.

2. Water

Molecular interactions in aqueous systems. Ionization, acids aand bases, pH and buffers. Solubility- Water as a chemical reagent.

 3. Macromolecules

Amino acids, peptides and proteins. Enzymes. Carbohydrates and Glycoconjugates. Nucleotides and Nucleic Acids. Lipids.
