At the end of this course the student will have acquired the knowledge, skills and competences that allow him:

In lectures the expositive method is adopted to present concepts, methods and models. Oral questions are frequently made for prerequisite control, knowledge assessment and stimulate students’ participation.
In laboratory sessions the experimental method is adopted. Active methods are used. The students are challenged with multifaceted problems which should be solved. Also, case studies are analyzed and discussed. Frequently teamwork is used.
The assessment is done remotly, on the moodle platform. The final grade is obtained by the weighted average of 5 mini tests, each with a weighting between 15 and 25%.

Each mini test will be held during class time, will last from 30 to 40 minutes and the grade will be rounded up to hundredths.
Final grade = 0.15 mT1 + 0.20 mT2 + 0.20 mT3 + 0.20 mT4 + 0.25 mT5
For approval in the UC, the student needs attendance and a final grade of at least 10 points (out of 20).
If the final grade is higher than 17 points, the student must do the Defense of Grade, which is carried out by means of a distance oral exam with at least two teachers. It will be scheduled with the student between 3 and 7 days after the final grade is released.
Students who do not pass the continuous assessment have the opportunity to take the Exame de recurso. The Exame de recurso is face to face and only a scientific calculating machine can be used.
It is mandatory to attend 8 of the 13 practical classes.
