Computational Fluid Mechanics
Objectives
It is intended that the students acquire: the fundamentals of numerical methods for the solution of Navier-Stokes/Reynolds equations, the perception of how the commercial and open-source computer codes for computational fluid dynamics work, realize their potential and limitations; the computational practice that will allows to solve concrete problems of Fluid Mechanics in any field of engineering, particularly in mechanical engineering; and the ability to evaluate the solutions.

Teaching method
Lectures and problem solving sessions.
Evaluation method
- The assessment is done by a project.
- To succeed students must attend at least 2/3 of the classes (theoretical and practical). And submit, present and discuss: the preliminary project, the progress report and final project in the defined deadlines.
- The final grade is 10% for the preliminary project, 10% for the progress report and 80% for the final project. The grade of these components is obtained by the evaluation of the report, the oral presentation, the discussion and individual questions.
- Relevant dates:
