PhD in Biomedicine

Education objectives

The 3rd Cycle of Studies of the PDBM leading to the degree of Doctor in Biomedicine intends to enable the student to develop conceptual and methodological tools to apply to biomedicine. Its main objective is to equip students with a multidisciplinary background to be at the forefront of biomedical research. This training will provide a broad view of the area in order to enable the student to transfer scientific knowledge and skills to academia, industry or research laboratories or clinical analyzes. It is intended to prepare the students for future professional means. Emphasis will fall on collaborative research projects and the curriculum structure of this program is organized into a group of core courses and advanced complementary courses taught by both institutions, giving students the opportunity to experience the scientific environments in the two universities.
