Objectives

It is expected that students:
a) perform a close reading of some Portuguese literary works of the XXth century;
b) develop a capacity of conceptualisation and criticism based on the comprehension of the selected texts;
c) acquire the capacity to propose new interpretations of the contemplated literary works.

Teaching method

Classes will have a theoretical and practical approach, assessed by a close reading of texts.
At the beginning of the semester, an anthology of critical texts will be recommended to students.
It is expected that students read previously the texts announced for the class.

Evaluation method - Oral presentation(30%), Written essay(70%)

Subject matter

We propose a transversal reading of the literary object, experimenting it as a laboratory of a question that exceeds it, and yet can only be be apprehended inside it: living together. The subject will work as a dispositive of creation and as a force of expression.
