Subject matter

The practice of Textual Criticism follows a double purpose: to analyse the different textual transmissions and, based on that analysis, establish an edition of the text. Therefore, the study of concepts and methods of Textual Criticism will be accompanied by the analysis of literary documents and editions, showing the importance of the bibliographic and editiorial dimension for its reading. The study of particular cases will be focused on authors of the literary and philosophical Modernity, among them Fernando Pessoa.
