Problematics of History

Objectives

It is intended that the students acquire: an in-depth knowledge about the main theoretical problems of current historiography; critical thinking; the ability to choose a sector of expertise, to plan and to carry out the work required by the curricular unit, as well as to use these skills in the preparation of the research of its thesis; ability to be creative in developing ideas and pursuing research objectives; the ability to take advantage of the main opportunities for collaborative research on an international scale in the field of social sciences and the humanities; capacity to contribute to the advancement of knowledge through research.

Conferences; study visits; discussion panels; complementary scientific activities Tutorial guidance by a teacher or researcher specific to each student. 

Evaluation method

Evaluation Methodologies - Participation in the sessions(10%), Progress report of research activity(10%), Theoretical essay considering the problems evoked in the sessions, trying to explore the links with their research. The essay will be presented and discussed in session.(80%)

Open Science - information organization and management, open access, collaborative research, citizen science, science and society; Module four. What place for the Social Sciences, the Arts and the Humanities, and history in particular in the scientific system? Challenges, trends and opportunities.
