Subject matter
This seminar is studying essential issues that accompanied the main conjunctures and transformations that characterized the twentieth century Portuguese, considering the articulation with the former colonies and their relations and insertion in the international context, particularly European, from a global history perspective. From the crisis of finissecular liberalism, the three types of regimes that followed the fall of the monarchy in 1910 are followed by observing in particular issues that relate to the political and ideological nature of regimes and institutions; the profile and behavior of political and social elites; understanding of historically decisive rupture/turning conjunctures.
