Objectives
1)To develop theoretical and critical thinking and assessment skills and insights on literary translation both as a process and as a result.
2) To apply knowledge and skills in translating a range of different literary texts and genres.
3)To demonstrate originality and/or creativity in literary translation practises.
4)To identify, conceptualise and define new and abstract problems and issues.

Evaluation method
Evaluation Methodologies - Production of a written research paper (10-15pages)(50%), Assiduity and regular and active participation in classwork, through presentation and discussion of translations carried out by the students as well as critical analysis.Two written tests(50%)
Subject matter
1.Critical analysis of translations (poetry and prose)
2.Critical and comparative analysis of different translations of the same text from the same and from different periods
3. Identification of problems and difficulties at the lexical, semantic, stylistic, pragmatic and cultural levels
4. Reflection about methodological and epistemological questions underlying literary texts
5. Researching different translation strategies aplicable to the translatioon of literary texts.
6. Translation of a specific text to be chosen in the classroom.
