Models and Methodologies in Language Sciences
Objectives
At the end of the course, students should be able to:
(a) Identify the theoretical questions which guide the main models in the area of
language sciences;
(b) Describe different research methodologies used in language sciences;
(c) Design a research project in the are of language sciences.
(d) Apply the knowledge on language sciences in constructing linguistic
resources to the community.

Classes will be theoretical and practical, with lectures and classes to analyse
and discuss exts and students' work.
Evaluation method
Método de avaliação - Designing a research project or building a linguistic resource - 40% (15% oral presentation + 25% poster/resource), to be presented at a final workshop and to be published in the courses webpage.(40%), In-class activity (10%) and final test (30%)(40%), Self-study, organization of a portfolio, active and relevant participation in class and constructive participation in tutorial sessions(20%)
