Objectives

a) Understand the importance of information and communication technologies in the teaching;
b) provide the future teacher knowledge and skills in the use of digital web-based resources;
c) know the wide range of dynamic digital information;
d) recognize the need to update the sources and their credibility;
e) build strategies for teaching geography based on mobile communication technology and collaborative digital resources;
f) think over strategies for teaching / learning \"traditional\" vs \"innovative\" environments.
g) develop assessment skills in digital environments.

Teaching method

Classes will essentially practical component where students will develop critical reflection activities, construction of learning activities and debate them with their peers. Classes will still have a theoretical framework to each theme.

Evaluation method

a) Participation and development of small works in the classroom.(30%), b) Individual Work: Construction of a working methodology to be used in the classroom with the use of digital sources (digital maps, dynamic graphics, etc.).(70%)

Subject matter

Part I: The transformation of learning spaces.
1.1. The physical space of the classroom.
1.2. The teacher as mediator digital.
1.3. Contextualization of mobile communication equipment.
1.4. The credibility of the sources in Geography.
1.5. The need to add value to the process of teaching / learning of Geography.


Part II: The technologies available in the teaching of Geography
1.1. Creating effective strategies in the teaching / learning process.
1.2. Collaborative environments in different training offers.
1.3. Digital and dynamic web-based content (eg, graphics and collaborative maps, dynamic digital content, Google Earth, etc..).
1.4. Integration of mobile learning environments in the classroom.


Part III: Assess in technologically advanced environments.
1.1. Assessment vs. classification.
1.2. Differentiated processes for assessing and rating.
1.3. Innovate - Contrary to myths and clichés in the teaching and learning process.
