Teaching method
One of the Guiding Principles of Teaching Methodology of the Faculty of Law of Universidade Nova de Lisboa, which will be adopted in the Law of People and Family Law, refers to the preference for theoretical-practical classes combined with debates and structured class.
The lectures will be preceded by texts and documents (notably case studies decided by the Portuguese Courts and by the European Court of Human Rights), previously elaborated and / or selected and shared with the students by E-Learning (moodle), making possible participation active in the questioning, interpretation and discussion of the issues.
Evaluation method
The evaluation will be based on the weighting of written assignments, oral participation and compulsory Final Written Examination, which will take into account the mastery of the subject, the ability to analyze and synthesize its content, the creativity in linking it to other subjects of the course or to other sources of knowledge, as well as written communication skills.
Subject matter
The proposed program content corresponds to the Institutes of Law of Juridical Relations and Family Law, which are included in Books I and IV, respectively, of the Portuguese Civil Code, to contemplate the basic elements that the student needs to know in order to familiarize himself with these contents.
Such institutes have conceptual autonomy that act in constant intra and interdisciplinarity in order to make it possible to promote the capacity to cross the socio-normative dimensions internal and external to this area of knowledge.
The use of pedagogical strategies, such as case studies, helps to enable students to handle technical and legal mechanisms for judgment and decision-making and prepares them to act adequately in different administrative or judicial proper use of processes, acts and procedures.
