Specialization in Information Analysis and Management

Education objectives

The specialization in Information Analysis and Management aims to train experts and managers qualified to lead and guide information collection, compilation, analysis and management inside organizations.

This specialization is aimed at everyone whose concern for analysis and treatment of information is critical to perform their roles, namely managers and technical staff involved in information production for strategic decision-making support in organizations. Marketing technical staff and managers, experts in market research and CRM, Information technologies managers, technical staff of Risk Management, Information systems managers, are among the target groups of this program.

The main goal of this program is to train technical staff and managers to:

- Develop techniques and methods of information collection;

- Apply several methods, statistical and computing tools to explore and analyze information, in order to reduce uncertainty in decision making;

The selection process is based on the analysis of the applicant's academic and professional curriculum.

Degree pre-requisites

For the conclusion of the curricular component, it is necessary to obtain a minimum of 60 ECTS (credit units). The curricular component of the program includes two semesters, that corresponds to a postgraduate program diploma.

To earn the Master degree program in Statistics and Information Management, with a specialization in Information Analysis and Management, the student must develop a scholarly thesis, work project or a professional internship, carried out in the third semester.

Conditions of admittance

The requirements for the applications are: a degree in a compatible field (complete until September 2021); analysis of the applicants' academic and professional curriculum.

Evaluation rules

The evaluation of each discipline is usually carried through a final exam. This evaluation may be complemented with a project developed individually or in group. A minimum classification of 10 values is demanded so that the discipline is concluded successfully.
