Enterprise Resource Management Systems

Objectives

Based on a standard ERP (Microsoft Dynamics NAV) system, students will perform various business scenarios ERP . From the operational and financial functions students will perform tasks in real-time based on actual business functions in order to become skilled in setting up and using an ERP application .

Teaching method

Lectures, Theoretical-practical, Laboratory Practices and  Seminars. In the lectures the concepts and basic principles of ERP are presented. Theoretical-practical classes debate/promote articles / scientific studies that illustrate the issues covered in the lectures. In the Laboratory Practice students will perform in the application 'Microsoft Dynamics Nav' various business senarios. In the Seminars professionals will share their knowledge about ERP in the Portuguese context.

Evaluation method

Participation in class and deliveries of case studies (40%), group work (10%) and a final exam (50%)
Throughout the semester students will complete two individual deliveries, illustrating the concepts and understanding of various studies, articles and book chapters. The task of the group work will be completed by fulfilling a functional scenario in ERP. An individual final exam will be held at the end of the course.
