Integrated Disease Managment

Objectives

Learning outcomes of the curricular unit

This course aims to achieve the following objectives:

a) Training the development and implementation of an integrated management disease model, at different levels of decision and health care delivery;

b) Disseminate the national and international best practice of chronic disease management;

c) Promote the creation, dissemination and implementation of management strategies for prevention and control of chronic disease;

d) Learning and combining different sources of information for health planning and analysis.

Teaching method

Teaching methodologies (including evaluation)

·         Theoretical sessions;

·         Seminars (critical analysis and discussion of case studies);

·         Group work: presentation and discussion.

Evaluation

a) Individual work (40%).

b)     Development of an essay up to 5 pages after research, analysis, interpretation and discussion of selected literature - group work (40%).

c) Attendance and class participation under continuous assessment (20%).
