Evaluation method
The assessment methods include:
· A narrative systematic review limited to a maximum of 6 articles. This is a work group assessment (4 students) limit to 3000 words (70%).
· An essay concerning the implementation of the systematic review findings in the students clinical context limit to 1500 words (30%).
· The students must have a classification of a minimum of 50% in both assessment activities.
Subject matter
The curricular unit content includes:
· Narrative systematic reviews and meta-analysis;
· Systematic Reviews of Diagnostic Accuracy studies, Outcome prognosis and treatment effectiveness; The Prisma Statement;
· Development of a Systematic Review Protocol;
· Advanced literature search strategies (Medline/Pubmed, Cochrane Central, CINAHL, Embase, PEDro database);
· Critical appraisal of primary studies; The Pedro Scale; The Consort Statement; The QUADAS Checklist; QUIPS Tool;
· Strategies for data Extraction and data synthesis;
· The Grade Guidelines.
