Entrepreneurship and Innovation

Objectives

This course has the objective of teach students the necessary contents to develop research in entrepreneurship and innovation:

-Entrepreneur spirit and capacity of identify and understand innovation importance

-Capacity to link entrepreneurship and innovation

-Capacity of understand the entrepreneur process and the different models and dynamics of innovation

-Understanding of key elements in the literature of entrepreneurship and innovation.

This unit provides the following transferable skills:

i) a solid scientific knowledge about entrepreneurship and innovation and its dynamics;

ii) dominate the relationships between practical examples and the theory;

iii) knowledge of the principal innovation models;

iv) to be able to possess continuous acquisition of knowledge in the Entrepreneurship and Innovation area.

Teaching method

The teaching sessions are theoretical and practical, combining the concepts with their application to concrete cases. In addition to the study each topic in the program in the classroom, the sessions include discussion of cases developing innovation strategy for a company, case presentations and discussion and sharing of experiences. In the case studies or literature reviews in the "state of the art" where students can develop in greater detail choosing any topic from the program.

During the course, we also use material from open access (open source), ie, in the form of video presentations, available on the site of open learning.

Disclosure of the contents of the lesson and bibliography (with an indication of the basic texts), in advance of one week, students across the page on the intranet of the University of Évora, in the e-learning platform of the University.: www.moodle.uevora.pt..
