Teaching Spanish FL Methodology I

Objectives

a) To acquire the fundamental theoretical bases for teaching and learning Spanish.
b) To recognize the contribution of the various methods and approaches in the teaching of foreign languages.
c) To get familiar with national Spanish programs, the Marco Común Europeo de Referencia para las Lenguas and the Plan Curricular del Instituto Cervantes.
d) To analyze comprehension, production, interaction and mediation activities and develop integration and development proposals within the framework of a didactic unit, taking into account explicit criteria.
e) To develop a critical reflection on the beliefs of the teacher and the student of LE, and their impact on the classroom.
f) To promote awareness of the Hispanic linguistic and cultural diversity.
g) To reflect, analyze and discuss processes to be developed in the classroom using the knowledge acquired.
h) Integrate some digital tools in the teaching of Spanish, developing critical awareness of their pedagogical implications.

Teaching method

Lessons have a theoretical and practical nature and include exposure, research, joint discussion, practical activities and reflection on the topics and content covered. The practical application of theory, interaction and active and continuous participation of students, individually and in groups, are privileged.

Evaluation method

Método de Avaliação - Continuous assessment: theoretical-practical work consistent with the creation of a Didactic Unit (50%), Regular participation in sessions with presentations and other activities (Mandatory attendance in 75% of classes, except students that work)(20%), Written test(30%)
