Art Criticism and Editorial Curatorship
Objectives
This course is dedicated to the production and reflection on art criticism and editorial
curation. It is intended to develop an approach that shares the theoretical and
practical perspective on the theme and to offer students a mastery of knowledge
about the process of discursive production and creation of publications, catalogs,
platforms, websites, in the area of contemporary arts. The program of this curricular
unit follows the historical and present path of art criticism and the fundamental role of
new forms of expanded curatorship, associated with the concerns that define our
present, information and the production of knowledge, mediation and circulation on
platforms that they promote new contexts of work in the artistic environment and new
forms of public access to culture.

Teaching method
Theoretical and theoretical-practical classes with debates on topics covered. In order
to enhance the experience and work networks with professionals of recognized merit
in this area, lectures will be held with agents from the artistic environment and visits to
cultural spaces.
Evaluation method
Método de Avaliação - Preparation of a final report / project(60%), and qualitative assessment of class participation(40%)

exhibition that will be discussed in a group session.

3. EDITORIAL CURATORSHIP PROJECT
Working closely with the faculty, students collaborate to produce a collective project
of editorial curatorship related to the final exhibition of the Postgraduate Course in Art
Curatorship, assuming all stages of editorial production: essay writing, editing,
production and circulation public.
