Geosynthetics in Railroad Rehabilitation


The main objectives of the Geosynthetics in Railroad Rehabilitation (GRF) course are to provide knowledge on the various aspects related to the use of geosynthetics in railroads, from the main types of existing materials, their properties, the multiple functions they can play in these works, the sizing methods and the care to be taken in the selection and installation.

Teaching method

The teaching methodology consists of theoretical-practical classes, where various aspects related to the use of geosynthetics in railways are addressed, from the main types of materials available on the market, their properties, the multiple functions they can perform, the design methods and precautions to be taken in selection and installation.

Classes are presented on a digital platform (Zoom), using slides, copies of which are made available to trainees.

The evaluation of the discipline is carried out through a final exam.
