Wireless Communications
Objectives
- Develop knowledge about wireless communications, namely through the characterization of the main architectures, propagation aspects, channel and interference models, and transmission techniques.
- Know and know how to characterize the impairments of the radio channel and transceivers of the systems.
- To provide students with the knowledge to develop simulations of wireless communication systems, including the modeling of the main components: transmitter, channel, and receiver.
- Know the main techniques for evaluating the performance of a wireless communication system.

Teaching method
Theoretical classes for exposition of the subject.
Practical classes dedicated to modeling and simulation of the learned concepts, with discussion and critical analysis of the results.
Evaluation method
Theoretical part (T): continuous assessment (2 tests, of equal weight and with no minimum score) or exam.
Practical part (P): laboratory work with assessment throughout the semester and a final discussion
- There are no retakes.
- A minimum of 9,5 marks is required in both the theoretical and practical parts.
Final grade calculation: 70%*T+30% P
