Teaching method

In the theoretical classes the material is presented and interaction with the students is encouraged.

In the laboratorial classes experiments are performed to highlight the key characteristics of different technologies and to gain laboratorial experience.

Classes can be made in English if foreign students are registered.

Evaluation method

2022-09-08

Evaluation has two components:
COMPONENT 1: Final Project (60%).
COMPONENT 2: Individual Laboratory Activity Report (40%)
There is NO EXAM. There is no other method or moment of evaluation.
The student must have a grade of 10 or higher to pass.

COMPONENT 1:
Project is done in groups of 2 or 3 students, delivered at the end of the semester, followed by individual presentation and discussion.
During the semester (week 5-6) a first draft of the project must be delivered and a first oral presentation performed, which will have a weight of 20% of the final grade.

Evaluation Criteria for the Final Project Grade:
**Written Document (50%).
- Clarity and quality of writing;
- Structure of the document;
- Scientific/technical rigour.

**Two Oral Presentations (5th Week: 20%; Final Semester: 30%)
- Clarity of the presentation, including oral communication skills;
- Scientific/technical rigor;
- Synthesis capacity;
- Assurance and argumentative skills.

COMPONENT 2:
Individual Laboratory Activity Report Evaluation Criteria (40%):
- Written Document max. 20 pp
- Critical sense in describing the observed demonstrations;
- Relevance and originality of the reported aspects;
- Clarity and quality of writing;
- Structure of the document;
- Scientific/technical rigour.
