Objectives

To attain level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (Independent User)
a) Can understand the main ideas of complex texts on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in his/her field of specialization.
b) Can participate actively in a discussion in almost all situations and can justify and defend his/her views.
c) Can present information in an essay or report or present arguments and counter-arguments for or against aparticular viewpoint in a stringent manner.
d) Can write longer letters, explaining personal significance of events and telling about personal experiences.

  • Training of listening comprehension skills through audiovisual materials (non-interactive situations) as well as through interactive situations in the classroom.
  • Reading of complex texts with appropriate strategies.
  • Development of speaking skills through discussions and presentations; argumentation and defence of own point of view.
  • Composing of texts and formal letters.
  • Training of skills that focus on cultural issues of countries where German is the official language as well as on Interculturalism.
