Translation Practice: Social and Human Sciences (Portuguese to French)


a) to acquire some knowledge about social sciences and humanities.
b) to be able to understand the source text in order to produce an accurate translation in French.
c) to identify and solve the text’s terminological and discursive difficulties using available translation tools: glossaries, corpora, parallel texts and specialized dictionaries.
d) to develop an autonomous use of linguistic knowledges in Portuguese and French in order to translate texts.
e) to develop the ability to self-correction over the translated text.
f) to deepen comunicative competences in the target language.
