Objectives

To work at level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (Independent User)
a) Can understand the main ideas of complex texts on both concrete and abstract topics, including technicaldiscussions in his/her field of specialisation
b) Can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quitepossible without strain for either party.
c) Can produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.
d) Can understand news programes and current affairs reports.

Teaching method

Practical language teaching. The communicative teaching of the lessons from it aims to promote the interaction of the learner and an ever more extensive autonomous learning. The intercultural approach would lead to a better understanding of cultural diversity.

  • Training of listening comprehension skills through audiovisual materials (non-interactive situations) as well as through interactive situations in the classroom.

  • Reading of complex texts with appropriate strategies

  • Development of speaking skills through discussions and presentations; argumentation and defense of own point of view.

  • Training of skills that focus on cultural issues of countries where German is the official language as well as on Interculturalism
