Spanish B1.1
Objectives
To reach the basis of level B1 of the CEFR.
1. To understand main points and extract some specific details in various texts.
2. To write simple but well constructed texts about current themes or topics relating to personal, professional andacademic involvement.
3. To exchange information, opinions and arguments in a simple but coherent way. To express feelings and beliefs,whether to agree or disagree, taking part in parcially spontaneous conversations.
4. To be aware of his/her own errors and the most persistent errors, as well as the differences between the twolanguages.
5. To be knowledgeable about the history, policital situation and linguistic reality of Spain and Latin America.
6. To be able to relate the mother culture with the cultures of Spanish-speaking countries, and to develop a sense of open-mindedness and interest in cultural diversity.
7. To apply what is learned to the fields of Languages, Literature, Culture and Translation.

Teaching method
Inductive and deductive, formal and communicative activities, based on one or more type of language feature(expression, comprehension, interaction and mediation), focusing on the students' needs, and emphasizing the integration of skills, intercultural reflection, autonomous learning and the use of digital media.
Continuous Evaluation. Two tests done in class; oral presentations and written work. Evaluation will be based on communicative competence, accuracy and appropriacy, the use of learning strategies, knowledge about sociocultural aspects of the Hispanic world and an ability for critical cultural reflection.

Evaluation elements:
-Oral expression and oral interaction in class (15%).
-Written compositions (15%)
-Reading test: commentary of a work (extensive reading) (20%).
-Test: linguistic, semantic, lexical and cultural contents (50%).
Subject matter
1. Expressing information, opinions, feelings and arguments in a simple and coherent manner concerning topics as:memories, the city, social changes, the concept of time and spare time.
2. Relating information by means of expressing causes, conditions and purpose.
3. Narration of past experiences. Consolidation of the form, use and contrastive use of past tenses (Various forms of the Preterite, including the Imperfect and Pluperfect).
4. Future, Conditional and indirect speech.
5. Revision of ways of addressing people in Spanish.
6. Widening of vocabulary related to daily topics in both the private and public domain.
7. Contrastive features between Spanish and Portuguese .
8. Facts, cultural aspects, behaviours and sociocultural conventions in the Hispanic world.
9. Develoment of intercultural knowledge and skills.
10. Current events: the relations between the Hispanic world and the own community.
