Women's Time
Objectives
Mastering fundamental concepts of feminist theory as: woman, feminism, female, sex, gender identity and to recognize the prospects associated with them. They must be able to formulate relevant questions linked to the theme of women and/or gender, thus contributing to the enrichment of the formulation: what it means to be a woman? They must Identify the political and social events which led to the upsurge of women's movements either at late nineteenth or twentieth centuries. To understand the feminist thought(s) associated with the different "waves" and relate them with the main dominant theories. To recognise the particularities of feminist movements and the disruptions on social and cultural mainstream.

Teaching method
The diversity of scientific origin and experience of the students requires a very active and participative methodology, in which the exchange of life experiences becomes a learning resource. Papers distributed in advance and subsequently analysed and worked in class are often used. Lectures are interspersed with analysis of materials (texts, illustrations, magazines, artistic expressions, ...) that can be analyzed in a group or individually.
Evaluation method
Método de avaliação - Assessment is continuous and focuses on small products or interventions in class and culminates in the writing of an essay. Subsequently, indiduai essays are presented and discussed in class what consists on a rich and diverse learning moment for everybody.(100%)
