Costal Zone Management

Objectives

a) To deepen the knowledge about the coastal zone, recognizing its own specificities;
b) To know how to analyze the complexity of relationships established in the use of Coastal Zones, with the conflicts arising from the use of these spaces and aggravated by climate change;
c) To know and apply methodologies and techniques for spatial diagnosis and prospective analysis;
d) To learn how to interpret and evaluate the different planning processes and management models of the Coastal Zone at different scales (European, National and Regional) and their relationship with Maritime Spatial Planning;
e) To have the knowledge to prepare, evaluate and present proposals for intervention in the planning processes ofCoastal Zones and linkage to the SDG2030.

Evaluation method

Continuous assessment - Group exercises with simulation of real situations(15%), Individual elaboration of a article or a critical recension (20%) + Fieldtrip report 5-10 pages (5%)(25%), Reading of a set of selected texts selected, with the material presented in the lectures. This contents will be assessedthrough the development of a project work centered in a real situation(60%)
