Diplomacy

Objectives

a) To acquire a general knowledge about the diplomatic activity, both as regards its legal framework as to how specific aspects of that activity, with emphasis on negotiation.
b) To develop the ability to analyze situations in the area of international relations, in particular with regard to its diplomatic component.

Teaching method

Classes have a theoretical-practical component aimed at developing program content in interaction with the student body.


Exhibition methods as well as media resources and online tools will be used to promote participation and interaction.


As it is a theoretical-practical course, students will be invited to participate in simulations and practical exercises with the aim of consolidating theoretical knowledge.

Evaluation method

Various assessment tools will be integrated in accordance with academic regulations, such as:
1. Participation in classes, including attendance, active participation and intervention in classes, and the resolution of questions/practical cases proposed throughout the semester (either in a group or individually).


2. Individual essay.
3. Exam


The weighting will be 20% for attendance and practical work during classes, 20% for essay and 60% for exam.
