Galician language and society

Objectives

a) Acquire knowledge about the social context of Galicia;

b) Acquire knowledge about the current sociolinguistics of Galician;

c) Knowledge of the Galician language, in the four basic skills: written expression and oral expression (level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages), written comprehension and listening comprehension (level B2).

d) Acquire grammatical skills: phonetics, phonology, syntax, lexicon.

Teaching method

Grammatical and historical contents (about language and literature) are developed through theoretical explanations, coordinated with a practical focus on language learning. It is usual to use real materials (texts, videos, auditions) and to propose practical activities for their correct assimilation.
