Brazilian Literature

Objectives

a) Acquire specific knowledge about the evolution of Brazilian literature, its history as national literature and the problems of its constitution in separation from Portuguese literature;
b) To deepen the knowledge of the linguistic differentiation of Portuguese, namely through contact with Brazilian literary Portuguese and, in particular, acquiring some familiarity with the linguistic differentiation in Brazil;
c) Acquire knowledge about the Brazilian contribution to the universal literature, deepening the study of some key authors for this contribution;
d) Acquire knowledge about the problems of world literature, the relations between countries and literature, the problem of the national specificity of literature and the historicity of the notion of literature;
e) To deepen knowledge of literary theory, experience in literary reading and mastery of literary analysis techniques.
